The ordinary afternoon that nobody thought was worth remembering, preserved by accident.

What is a Christmas family film?

A Christmas at Home Film is a short cinematic film created inside your own home during the Christmas season. Not a photo session. Not a highlight reel. A real film, with your children's actual voices, filmed while your family does the things you already do this time of year.

Decorating the tree. Baking cookies. Reading Christmas books in pajamas. Making hot chocolate. Hanging the ornaments your kids made in preschool, the ones that will never match and will always go front and center anyway.

I spend about an hour with your family, gently guiding rather than posing, and then I craft everything into a finished film of two to three minutes, set to licensed music and woven through with the sounds of your home. Your daughter narrating which ornament goes where. Your son asking if Santa likes the frosted cookies or the plain ones. The little conversations you hear every day right now and will ache to hear again someday.

How is a Christmas family film different from a Christmas mini session?

Christmas mini sessions are built for efficiency. Fifteen minutes, a styled set, a handful of images, dozens of families moving through the same backdrop in a single day.

There is nothing wrong with that. But it captures how your family looked, not how your Christmas felt.

A film preserves things a photograph simply cannot hold. The sound of your children's voices at this exact age. The way your youngest still mispronounces "reindeer." The rhythm of your home on a December morning. Your traditions, exactly as they are this year, before the kids outgrow them.

One day the tree will be decorated in silence by two adults who miss the chaos. This film is for that day.

Does our home need to be perfectly decorated?

No. Truly, no.

Your home does not need to look like a magazine. Your tree does not need a designer. Your children do not need to behave, match, or perform. Some of the most beautiful moments I have ever filmed happened in ordinary living rooms with lopsided trees and cookie flour on the counter.

This is not about creating a perfect Christmas. It is about remembering the Christmas your family is already living.

What happens during the Christmas family film session?

We choose two or three simple traditions ahead of time, something your family would genuinely be doing anyway. When I arrive, I simply begin filming while your family does what it does. I offer gentle guidance when it helps, but mostly my job is to notice. The glance between siblings. The small hands reaching for the highest branch. The way your kitchen sounds when everyone is home.

Most children forget I am there within ten minutes. That is when the real film begins.

What should we wear?

Whatever feels like your family at its coziest. Soft knits, cream sweaters, classic pajamas, velvet bows, warm textures. Coordinated rather than matching. You do not need to buy anything new, and nothing should feel like a costume.

Will the film be ready before Christmas?

That is up to you. With my standard delivery of eight to ten weeks, your film arrives in the quiet weeks of the new year, right when the season has ended and you are missing it most.

When does booking open?

Booking opens in early September, and the priority list will have first access before spots are announced publicly. With limited spots available, priority access matters. Last to know often means too late.
